Horse Breeding Research Center of the state association "Turkmen atlary" in the city of Arkadag consists of 4 departments: a veterinary laboratory, zootechnics, scientific and clinical and molecular genetics.
The Veterinary laboratory department of the Horse Breeding Research Center consists of bacteriological, virological, serological, mycological, parasitological and chemical-toxicological departments, and carries out diagnostics of various infectious and non-infectious diseases of horses on a scientific basis, as well as research into feed, feed additives, water, veterinary drugs, diagnostics and biomaterials used for horses. To carry out these works, the veterinary laboratory department is equipped with advanced, modern and innovative equipment that meets international standards.
In the Scientific and Clinical Department of the Horse Breeding Research Center collection of horse sperm and artificial insemination, diagnosis of various diseases, rehabilitation and treatment of horses are carried out on a scientific basis. In addition, the vivarium of the department contains laboratory animals intended for scientific research. In the course of scientific research aimed at preventing various horse diseases, animals are infected with the studied samples and preliminary results are obtained through clinical observation. At the same time, laboratory tests are conducted on animals to determine the suitability of feed, feed additives, liquids and veterinary drugs for horses. In addition, in the Horse Breeding Research Center has built stables designed to hold 40 horses, where horses are monitored before and after treatment, as well as scientific and clinical work.
The Zootechnical Department of the Horse Breeding Research Center conducts scientific research on the study of feeding, breeding and selection of horses. Work is also underway to study the value of feed for horses and ways to increase their nutritional value.
With the help of the most modern equipment in the world, installed in the Molecular genetics department of the Horse Breeding Research Center, work is underway to systematically study and record the purity of the breed, the quality of offspring, the degree of kinship and origin of Akhal-Teke horses.
All of the above departments are equipped with modern, advanced, innovative technological equipment, which significantly contributes to the high-quality and accurate implementation of research work carried out in the Horse Breeding Research Center.
