Recently, the State Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan issued a limited patent for invention No. 1007 to the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding for «A method for obtaining an extract from licorice root waste».
Significant contributions to the scientific work carried out on this patent were made by specialists from the Scientific and Production Center for Horse Breeding and the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding. The method proposed within the framework of this patent will allow for the extraction of extract from secondary raw materials of licorice root and its wide use in agriculture.
Several useful aspects of the method proposed for patent production should be noted:
Firstly, it is economic feasibility. The use of secondary raw materials allows us to avoid significant costs associated with the cultivation, collection, drying and transportation of primary licorice root. This makes the production of the extract more accessible and cost-effective, which is especially important for large-scale applications in the agricultural industry where large volumes of product are required.
Secondly, the invention of books of the highest degree of purity. The rejection of the use of aggressive chemical reagents at all stages of production and use of deionized water, as well as physical separation methods (filtration, ultrafiltration) in order to obtain a natural, safe product. This meets the growing demands for environmental friendliness in animal husbandry and promotes the production of animal products that are safe for consumers. Furthermore, recycling thousands of tons of industrial licorice root waste significantly reduces the environmental impact, helping to address the problem of its disposal and promote a transition to a more sustainable production model.
Thirdly, the extract obtained by this method has increased efficiency and safety for farm animals. Unlike using the ground root, which can cause digestive and respiratory problems, the extract offered contains concentrated beneficial components such as glycyrrhizin and flavonoids, which minimizes side effects. The sweet taste of the extract makes it an attractive feed additive, increasing animal appetite and improving dietary intake. This, in turn, leads to improved gastrointestinal function, nutrient absorption, and the prevention of various internal organ diseases, which is especially important for maintaining the health and productivity of farm animals, including horses.
Fourthly, the use of membrane ultrafiltration for concentration is an innovative aspect that allows obtaining high-quality extract. This method avoids the thermal effects typical of evaporation, preserving heat-labile biologically active compounds in their native state and ensuring high stability and a long shelf life of the product.
Thus, this invention not only offers an effective and cost-effective way to obtain a valuable product from waste, but also contributes to improving the health of farm animals and the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex, while minimizing the negative impact on the environment. It opens up new possibilities for using secondary raw materials of licorice root as a valuable resource.
